Lecture ‘Design: why, how, what for’

On Thursday, September 10th, Ramón Esteve is participating as a speaker at Design Challenges, the first International Congress of Creativity and Innovation in Design organized by Barreira Arte + Diseño, where he is giving the lecture ‘Design: why, how, what for’.

The day begins at 10 AM with an opening ceremony attended by Dr. Damià Jordà, coordinator of educational research and innovation at Barreira A + D and director of the Congress; Dr. Carmen Alabau, academic director of Barreira A + D; María Lapiedra, communication director of València World Capital of Design 2022, and the Regional Minister of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society Carolina Pascual.

This is followed by the round table ‘Design Challenges. The contribution of design to the great challenges of the present ‘, held by Ramón Esteve together with the designers Nacho Lavernia, Juan Vidal, Carmen Baselga and Héctor Serrano.

The Congress that, like the opening ceremony, takes place at our centre in Valencia –Gran Vía Fernando el Católico, 69- on September 10th and 11th, is featuring forty-eight speeches from eleven countries on three continents: Europe, America and Asia. A successful call for the first edition of such an event, which has been presented in the midst of such unusual circumstances as we now find ourselves in.

Design Challenges wants to be a tool to weave networks between researchers and professionals, as well as an open forum from which to try to respond, from the world of design, to the great challenges that humanity faces at this time.
