Daybed Igloo VONDOM

The new Igloo Daybed, designed by Ramon Esteve for Vondom, is inspired by Fuller’s mid 20th century geodesic domes. Conceived as a place for shelter and amusement, the item shows geometric forms in the outside while the inside has softer lines and shapes.

The dome is formed by linked triangles with a light fabric that provides an interesting set of lights and shades. Igloo is conceived as a shelter place for the user, inviting us to relax and enjoy.

This sofa is a combination of Danish aesthetics, Italian proportions and seating combined with Mediterranean living. A composition that unites the verticality of the structure with the horizontality of the seat and a relaxed depth. The simple rotundity of its outline contrasts with the fluffiness of its interior cushions, soft and loose, which allow for combination and movement. A piece that materialises Hygge, that Danish word that is difficult to translate and evokes cosiness and intimacy.

The tapestry that wraps around the structure protects this cubicle whose interior houses a large seat. Its soaped wood legs, typically Danish, give the impression of being embedded in the upholstery. The fabric, rigid but swollen, encloses the cubic volume that defines this friendly and delicate sofa. A Danish design with a Mediterranean feel, welcoming, warm and in a certain way offering a familiar place, providing a seat capable of inspiring a calm, peaceful and pleasant way of life.
