Why, How, What for DESIGN

Ramón Esteve is an Architect and Designer; arising one facet as a consequence of the other. In 1991, he founded Ramón Esteve Estudio with the premise that architecture is a global discipline. His training as an architect became a transversal vision where Architecture and Design form one single concept, almost inseparable, both generated under the same laws and the same design premises. Its aim is the development of complete environments through a mutual interaction between both disciplines, so design acts on architecture and vice versa and the importance and difficulty of both disciplines are equally acknowledged.

Concepts, processes and things. Under this basic frame, each design is created according to three questions that articulate the process: Why, How, What for

Why. It gives answer to the inspirational element that generates the idea through the observation of the everyday world, watching objects and situations around us with the aim of learning lessons that would generate new ideas.

How. Materialization of the concepts through a series of tools, where geometry is the main element. Geometric purity that relates to elementary forms and industrial processes; so that Industry, Form and Concept are always connected.

What for. The search for balance through form with the objective that every object connects with its future user. Neutrality and pure geometric lines derive in universal pieces, separated from any specific place in order to transcend time and space. It results in objects capable of transmitting sensations in any environment.
