House in El Pilar

This detached house is placed in a quiet residential area in the Valencian village of Onteniente. The horizontal lie of the house provides the communication and the flows of circulation among all the rooms, obtaining a greatful harmony and intensifying the inside-outside relation, which it is strengthened by the plans primacy, both the vertical and the horizontal ones. The architecture itself arranges the outside rooms by means of zigzag which contribute a great dynamism to the faades. The entrance hall acts as an articulated room between the day and the night zones. The light swamps the rooms even zenithally, accompanying us in the travel to the most private outside part, where the swimming pool is. Close to the kitchen, a courtyard is opened out in response to the basic domestic necessities. The faades closure has been built with manual exposed brick. This material allows us to give continuity between the house and the landscape, fusing together in the plot as perimeter circulation s pavement from which it is possible to access to all the house sections.
