House in La Moraleja
Situated in a ten thousand sq meters plot, filled by pine trees abundantly and all kind of continental vegetation, the approach of this project was to build a wide house but moderated in size. The quiet perception of the surroundings it should not be broken.
The proposal was made according to the perception of the place from the house, the relationship between the exterior and the interior in concordance with every room of this single detached house. The shape of the building is conceived as a group of different dimensional cubes that emerges from the ground. The disposal of the cubes determinates the external vision of them, seen some of them totally from the ground or half buried.
These detached cubes are connected through the ground as a result of to extend the ground of the highest part of the site to the house. When the ground arrives to the opposite part of the house is converted in a porch. This is the excuse of taken the green external area to the interior of the house. So this green area is the central core as a courtyard for all the circulations of the house.
From this point all the spaces are set up, open spaces, hollow spaces etc. The distribution of the spaces is programmed according to the use of them, privacy, open air, but all of them in relationship with the external space and views.
The main material used is a slate cladding that gives a closely link to the house with the green site. As accessory to the slate all the woodwork is made with Iroko wood. The vegetation cover melts the porches with the ground and his perception from the highest point of the site. The other central point of view is from the lowest point of the site where we can see the cubes emerging vigorous from the forest.
