3rd Award in the International Contest of Ideas for the Advanced Neighbourhood in Toledo
This Project is born from the place and the proposed subject by the plan contest.
The project is based in a solid structure for housing that lands in the water and takes all the physical and sensory qualities from the water.
The apartments are laid out as crystallizations of the generating liquid. Therefore a fresh atmosphere is created extended to every single room unit and to the whole. Community and housing is integrated in a wealthy landscape from the water.
The project emerges form the observation of the water crystallization process as a result we can find his sharp forms due to the process of the water becoming ice.
The apartments are crystalline pieces laid out on the water looking for the ideal position of ventilation and sunshine. Some of the box units are moved from his original position and substituted by water or air giving to the proposal a rich free spaces integrated with the water.
The main block for the housing is fragmentized in three different pieces, the gaps between pieces are the public spaces and access to the apartments and contains the green areas as well. This block has a water appearance and occupies the whole of the plot, it looks like water in movement and the water penetrates inside leaving comfortable areas for living.
